During Tuesday’s Iroquois County Board meeting, County Emergency Management Agency Coordinator Scott Anderson gave an update on the aftermath of the tornadoes that touched down in the County last week. Anderson noted there were two, an EF-1 tornado that destroyed a pig farm just outside of Loda and an EF-0 tornado that touched down on the outskirts of Cissna park. Anderson noted several county residents had complained the warning sirens were never activated in their community
Anderson said prior policy required secondary confirmation of a tornado before activating the sirens and that won’t be the case going forward.
