Kankakee Mayor Chris Curtis said the facility is a large part of bringing back the City’s first ward

Curtis added federal dollars are also on their way to the city to help with the River Walk project on the City’s south side. Today’s ceremony was the completion of a project started by River Valley Metro in 2017.
