Guilty of all counts. That’s the verdict Thursday afternoon in the murder trial of 28-year-old Darius Sullivan. Sullivan had been charged with murder in the December 2021 shooting death of Bradley Police Sergeant Marlene Rittmanic and attempted murder in the shooting of Officer Tyler Bailey. Sullivan was also found guilty of several counts of endangering a child since his son was in the hotel room the night of the shooting. After a little over a week of testimony in the case, it took the jury less than two hours to return the verdict. When asked for comment following the verdict, Kankakee County State’s Attorney Jim Rowe would only say

Rowe declined further comment because of the pending court case against Sullivan’s alleged accomplice Xandria Harris. Harris’ next court date is November 15th, her trial date has yet to be set.  We were unable to reach Public Defender Ed Pentuic for comment. No sentencing state has yet been set for Darius Sullivan,
