Paxton IGA to be Replaced with Kirby’s

The Paxton IGA which opened its doors to grocery shoppers in 1954 has been sold.   As of next month, it will be owned by Kirby Foods and join 16 other locations in central Illinois and west central Indiana.   Kirby is based in Champaign.  In a statement company officials say the Paxton location will enjoy fresh produce, butcher meats cut daily, a deli and bakery.  The sale is expected to close on March 24th.
