Stratton launches campaign to replace Durbin

Illinois Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton is already tossing her hat into the ring for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by U.S. Senator Dick Durbin.  Stratton announced her bid yesterday morning on social media, making her the first major Democrat to enter a race.  The Chicago native has served as the state’s lieutenant governor under Governor Pritzker since 2019.  Her decision to run wasn’t a surprise after she announced in January that she was interested in Durbin’s seat if he decided not to run.
