During Wednesday morning’s meeting of the Kankakee County Board’s Criminal Justice Committee, County Sheriff Mike Downey noted another issue with the SAFE-T Act’s pre-trial release mandates.
Downey noted the courts have started to issue sanction against people for not showing up to court or violating pre-trial release.
