Illinois lawmakers have approved a 56-billion dollar state budget for the next fiscal year. Governor JB Pritzker boasted about the budget during a press conference Monday morning.
The proposal passed the House with a 76-39 vote after it cleared the Senate 37-21. The budget plan is the largest in state history and will cost residents and businesses over 800-million dollars in new taxes. The plan includes tax hikes on corporations, social media and cryptocurrency.
